EPO-TEK OG142-112-LH is a single-component, low-halogen, UV-curable optical epoxy for adhesive sealing and encapsulation of fiber optic and optoelectronic packaging. Manufactured by Epoxy Technology, Inc., it is the low-halogen version of OG142-112, offering the same high optical performance (≥96% transmission at 460–1,620 nm, RI 1.5629 cured) with Tg ≥129°C — one of the highest in the UV-cure optical epoxy range. Immediate cure die shear of 22 Kg from UV exposure alone.
Features & Benefits
- Low halogen formulation — suitable for halogen-sensitive fiber optic and telecom environments
- Highest Tg in class: ≥129°C for demanding thermal and solder reflow environments
- Die shear 22 Kg from UV-cure alone — immediate high fixture strength after UV exposure
- Excellent transmission ≥96% @ 460–1,620 nm covering visible to near-IR range
- Precise refractive index: 1.5629 @ 587 nm and 1.5446 @ 1,550 nm for optical coupling design
- Long shelf life (1 year refrigerated) — reliable storage for production planning
Typical Applications
- Fiber optic connector bonding and sealing requiring low halogen and high Tg
- UV-cure adhesive for optoelectronic packaging in telecom modules
- Sealing and encapsulation of fiber arrays in photonic integrated circuits
- Fiber optic assemblies operating at 1,550 nm requiring precise refractive index matching
